Aviotek, the developer behind a handful or larger airports for the X-Plane series, have announced their debut scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator will be Frankfurt-Am-Main – and it will be free.
In a message published on the company’s website ahead of the Christmas period, the developer vittogreco rounds off the year recapping a number of products that his company have developed for XPL. These include Venice Marco Polo, Skitathos, and their largest release to date Dubai.
Attention then turned to smaller airports like Treviso and Ozzano dell’Emilia as well as a handful of side projects. At the same time, vittogreco was studying at High School and then turned his attention towards becoming a type-rated airline pilot. In the post he thanks everyone who has helped to make his own personal dream come true.
He goes on to say that the community have always mattered to the company, and as as a way of saying thank you and giving back, it is then announced that the EDDF for MSFS will be made freely available to all users in perpetuity.
He says quote “We worked around the clock to optimize the whole user experience, increase the level of details, repaint textures, remake models, fix bugs and animate objects, and we are delighted to finally show you some previews of our work.”
“We would like to ask you only a favor, to bear with us for another month, so that we can add all the final fancy stuff and other important things (like the jetways etc.) that are missing in the pictures.”
Finally, the post is rounded off by inviting any would-be beta testers to email aviotek at the following address: jobs@avioteksoftware.com. Beta testing is expected to start in the first week of January.
FSElite will keep you updated with the progress of this exciting upcoming freeware scenery for one of Europe’s busiest airports!
