The freeware developer X-Works has released another mod for X-Plane in the form of the A340 (200 and 300). X-Works is known for its other A330-900NEO, released for X-Plane 12 in 2022. The A340 project borrows from the default A330, changing the landing gear, custom CFM56-C engines, throttle quadrant, ECAM, etc.
Not much information is available regarding the mod but it appears that users are leaving mixed feedback. Some are having issues installing the addon which may very well be the result of user error as the installation requires that one duplicates the default A330-300 folder and overwrites the existing files with the X-Works mod. Other users are eager for a more polished product in-sim. Nonetheless, there are plenty of users who are happy with the product so if you’re interested in giving this a shot, you can download it for free on the X-Plane forum here.
