Scenery developer WDF Avia has released their first scenery for the X-Plane platform, choosing to focus efforts on Thailand’s Phuket International Airport (VTSP) for their first release.
Phuket International Airport (VTSP) is an international airport located in the Phuket province in Thailand, South East Asia. The airport serves as the main gateway to its namesake island, and sees primarily tourists pass through its departure and arrival halls. Phuket International Airport (VTSP) is the third busiest airport in Thailand, featuring 3 terminals, two of which serve scheduled commercial flights, while the third is reserved for charter operations.
The airport saw approximately 6.3 million passengers pass through its doors in 2023, and sees numerous carriers operate to a wide variety of destinations from its single runway, including Air Astana to Almaty, Asiana Airlines to Seoul Incheon, Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi and Salam Air to Muscat, to name but a few.
New to X-Plane developer WDF Avia has released its rendition of Thailands most important coastal tourist hub for X-Plane 12. The scenery comes included with numerous features that are supposed to provide a realistic and immersive recreation of the airfield. Among said features are for example high resolution recreations of numerous airport buildings, including the three main terminals, custom 3D lighting set to illuminate the field at night, animated airport ground traffic, as well as custom Ortho4XP mesh set to imrpove the depiction of the surrounding terrain.
