Thrustmaster kick off the FSExpo 2023 rightfully showing off their impressive back catalogue. Thrustmaster has historically revolved many of their announcements around the FSExpos including the TPR Pendular Rudder at Las Vegas, followed by the F/A-18C Hornet HOTAS Add-On Flip in Orlando, and finally the TCA Yoke Pack Boeing Edition at San Diego.
They didn’t hesitate to move directly to their new product announcement, the Viper TQS Mission Pack. They transitioned to an exciting video showcasing the new product, filled with action shots including dodging missiles, dogfighting, chaff, flare, and plenty of explosions. Following the video, Michel Stojkovic explained that the design philosophy stems from emotion; after all flying is a passion we all share as simmers. Their design philosophy is split between three main categories; replica, realism, and immersion. The design will be a faithful representation of the real F-16 Throttle grip while maintaining the form factor limitations of home simulation.
The product line includes a throttle and panel controls based on the Viper F-16 and is licensed alongside the U.S Air Force. The 1:1 scale throttle is built with precision in mind, which means quality parts such as realistic detents and smooth, precise throttle control and a chaff/flare ‘panic button’. The panel controls, which are detachable and can be purchased either as a package alongside the throttle, or separately, was designed to include all of the important backlit switches, a gear handle, and “balances functionality and reality.”
The TQS Viper Mission Pack will be released for pre-order on August 31st for $529/€499 for the throttle and panel, or separately for $349/€329 for the throttle and $249/€229 for the panel.
