Scenery developer Tailstrike Designs has announced that they will be bringing Milano Bergamo Airport (LIME) to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The airport, also known as Orio al Serio International Airport, is one of three main airports in the Italian city of Milan. Situated north of Milan, the airport is a key hub for low-cost carrier Ryanair, but also sees plenty of traffic from other European carriers.
The announcement shared on the Tailstrike Designs Facebook page also came with a number of previews of the airport in the simulator. Unfortunately, the previews are taken quite far from the terminal or other buildings, so it is hard to see the level of detail the developers are achieving with this airport product. However, we can see some use of dynamic lighting and PBR materials used on the 3D modeling.
Despite today’s announcement, the team made it clear that progress on Prague Airport (LKPR) has not been impacted as there are different teams working on these projects.
For those using either Prepar3D or X-Plane 11, Tailstrike Designs reassured fans that Milano Bergamo Airport will also come to those platforms “down the road.” What is a little confusing is that Tailstrike Designs has already made the airport for these platforms, so perhaps this means they’re updating the product.
