The developers at SayIntentions.AI have announced a January 15th release date for the Microsoft Flight Simulator version of their AI-based air traffic control. SayIntentions will also be made available for X-Plane, though the release date is not yet confirmed but is expected around Q1 2024.
This air traffic control software is a project developed to allow users the ability to interact with ATC using their voice, without the need to use VATSIM or IVAO. While the ATC addon will initially be released with only VFR compatibility, it will include support for Class-B, C, and D airspaces including flight followings, radar services, closed-traffic pattern work, ATIS, and more. Additionally, various controllers will have a variety of personalities providing a bit of flair during your procedures. If you are new to using ATC, a “Student Pilot” mode will offer extra guidance and patience on behalf of the controller to help new simmers learn. It’s worth noting however that only the United States will be covered on initial release.
While final prices are yet to be announced, SayIntentions is seeking to target a price between $15 and $25 USD per month. If you are interested in being among the first to use SayIntentions, you will need to join a waitlist (available on their website), as access will be rolled out to prevent scaling issues. Lastly, those who are interested are welcome to try the product for free, likely to be limited to the area around Lake Tahoe in Reno, Nevada.
