Pimax, the manufacturer behind the critically-acclaimed Crystal VR Headset, have started to issue new bi-weekly updates on all the major happenings within the company.
This week’s update contains some information on the Crystal’s Wide FOV lenses. The Crystal supports interchangeable lenses, and going forward users who opt for the Wide FOV lenses will be recommended to pick up a special facial foam guard which will improve the user experience by keeping the user’s eyes further from the lenses themselves, maximising the utility that comes with the additional field of view.
Additionally the company are in the process of manufacturing a new batch of comfort top straps, which users will be able to pick up as an optional extra with their purchases. The top strap, per the name, sits atop the users head and is supposed to enhance comfort over prolonged sessions in VR by shifting the point of maximum load bearing from the weight of the headset on the user’s head.
Finally, a new version of Pimax’s Play software went live earlier in the month. This update contains a range of new features to customise the user experience with Pimax’s headsets, including fast pass-through, forced 1/2 frame-rate lock options, and bug fixes. Users should be prompted to install the update as soon as they launch the software.
