New BlueBird Simulations 757 Previews and Details

The last big blowout of information from BlueBird Simulations about their 757 came a couple of weeks ago in the form of a video. In the video, the team described how the plane will be moving towards a high-fidelity release, stating, “it’s gonna be a very realistic and complex simulation of the aircraft.”

We now have further confirmation and details on what that means courtesy of a new blog post on the Just Flight development blog. Right now the avionics system is under development, BlueBird Simulations said. In fact, the displays themselves have been “mapped out pixel by pixel to ensure complete accuracy.” Furthermore, the FMS is being developed to have all pages simulated and the electrical system has been done from the ground up to ensure that almost 500 circuit breakers are mapped to their respective electrical buses.

The virtual cockpit, as mentioned in the video, has been overhauled, with new textures designed to make the plane look as realistic as possible.

Other areas that are seeing extensive work include the air conditioning, the IRS, hydraulics, and fuel systems. Expect to see appropriate EICAS messaging and reactions from the plane. For example, the IRS system will have a simulated variable alignment time based on location. Of course, you can make use of the ‘fixed time’ option too, if that is what you would prefer.

You can see the new previews throughout this post. It’s always worth noting that what you see is a work in progress and subject to change. Again, many of the details found in the blog were also mentioned in the lengthy video update that we posted a few weeks ago.

The 757 by BlueBird Simulations remains one of the most anticipated planes for Microsoft Flight Simulator and we will be sure to keep you updated with further previews or progress updates.
