Kiss Simulation Releases Sarajevo International Airport for MSFS

Scenery developer Kiss Simulation has released Sarajevo International Airport (LQSA) for MSFS, adding another Balkan destination to be discovered by interested flyers.

Sarajevo International Airport (LQSA) serves as the main gateway to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herezgovina, and is located approximately 6 miles to the southwest of Sarajevo’s city center. Sarajevo International Airport was the first to feature an asphalt runway. Construction of the airport began in 1966 with it opening its doors to commercial traffic in June 1969. The airport saw its first international route to Frankfurt launch one year later.

During the Yugoslav conflict, ownership and management of the airport swtiched repeatedly. First under control of the Yugoslav People’s Army, the airport subsequently fell under control of Bosnian forces, before being put under U.N. control. At the time, the airport featured in the largest humanitarian operation in U.N. history, when some 13,000 flights delivered over 160,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the besieged city of Sarajevo.

Today, the airport serves as the country’s primary aviation hub, bringing tourists and business to and from the country’s capital. The airport served 1.3m passengers in 2023, and is expected to see substantial improvement projects take place all through 2027. Numerous carriers fly to Sarajevo today, including for example Qatar Airways with service to Doha, Salam Air to Muscat, and Lufthansa to Frankfurt, to name but a few.

Scenery developer Kiss Simulation has released their rendition of this important Bosnian aviation hub for MSFS users to discover. The scenery comes included with all the ususal features, including an up-to-date ground layout, custom-created 3D building and vehicle models, high-resolution textures, as well as a fully-modeled terminal interior. Judging by the screenshots below and first posted reviews, the scenery has been well received, and the level of detail is up-to-par to community standards.

Kiss Simulations recreation of Sarajevo International Airport (LQSA) can be purchased on the developer’s simMarket store page, with the purchase setting you back $14.20 excl. VAT.
