Recently, BRsimDesigns announced on the MSFS forum the development of their Embraer EMB 121 Xingu for MSFS.
The EMB 121 Xingu was a twin-turboprop aircraft produced by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The aircraft’s design was based on the EMB 110 Bandeirante, utilizing the same wing and engine design but incorporating a new fuselage. The EMB 121 Xingu was produced between 1977 and 1987, with just over 100 units produced. Despite being made over 40 years ago, the aircraft is still in service today, with the French Air and Space Force being the largest operator.

While BRsimDesigns didn’t provide much detail regarding features and a release date, they stated that the aircraft has been in development for a year and provided photo previews of the aircraft’s cockpit and exterior. Based on the previews, the cockpit appears very detailed with all the switches and analog instruments. BRsimDesigns’ rendition of the EMB 121 Xingu also appears to feature an EFB to enter fuel/payload, open and close doors, and switch between analog and digital displays. In addition, the developer later posted a video on YouTube showcasing the aircraft’s weather radar and anti-stall systems. Overall, it is clear that a lot of hard work has been put into perfecting the modeling and systems to ensure this aircraft matches the real-life EMB 121 Xingu.
FSElite will continue to monitor the development of the aircraft and provide any future updates.
