Coming hot on the heels of their Malta Airport release for MSFS, scenery developer JustSim has released their rendition of Dresden Airport (EDDC) for MSFS.
Dresden International Airport (EDDC) is a medium-sized international airport mainly serving Dresden and its surrounding area. The airport is located in Kotzsche, a district of Dresden, and, in 2018, saw 1’762’175 passengers pass through its gates. The airport can look back upon a rich history, with it having originally opened its doors to commercial traffic in 1935. Following its service as a military facility during WWII, the airport was eventually returned to commercial use. Following the German reunification, the airport was expanded and saw a sevenfold uptick in commercial traffic. Today, the airport counts a single terminal, equipped to handle airliners up to and including the Airbus A320.
On an interesting side note, the airport served as the home base to the Eastern German aircraft manufacturer VEB Flugzeugwerke Dresden. The manufacturer used the airport as a testing ground for East Germany’s only commercial aircraft project, the Baade 152 jetliner, of which only 3 prototypes were ever produced.
Scenery developer JustSim has released its rendition of this iconic German airport for MSFS users to jet in and out of. Although no detailed feature list was provided on the official product page, the scenery, judging by the screenshots, seems to be up to par with the developer’s other recent releases for the platform.
Should you feel the desire to render a visit to the city of Dresden and its airport in MSFS, then head over to the simMarket online store where JustSim’s Dresden Airport scenery is now available for purchase for €18.80 E.x.
