Gaya Simulations has released their fourth airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Berlin Tegel Airport (EDDT).
Berlin Tegel Airport is located just five miles north-west of the city of Berlin in the borough of Reinichendorf. The airport has played its part in many key events over the past century, being a base during the Berlin Airlift, a military base for the French Armée de l’Air force and then starting commercial services during the late 1950s, with services all around Europe with aircraft such as the Boeing 707, de Havilland Comet and the Douglas DC-8. More recently, the airport sees airlines such as Easyjet, Eurowings and Ryanair ferry over 20 million passengers all over Europe making it the fourth busiest airport in Germany. Berlin Tegel is planned to close as soon as Berlin’s latest airport, Brandenburg Airport opens sometime in 2020.
Gaya Simulations has recreated the classic airport to include best in class immersion with detailing and performance in mind. The developer has spent many months looking at real-world documents, images and other sources to create the airport. From the screenshots, you can see that there has been lots of attention around the terminal buildings which are custom modelled and uses high definition texturing to bring the airport to life. The release included custom night lighting and ground vehicles and other static aircraft.
Away from the airport, Gaya Simulations has blended the airport into the native surroundings within MSFS and has also included many points of interest around the city to enhance the approach into the airport.
You can purchase Berlin Tegel Airport for MSFS through Orbx Central which makes installation very easy. The airport has been priced at $21.94AUS Ex.VAT which is around £12.38/€13.51/$16.00. If you purchase both Berlin Tegel and Vienna airport together, you could save a further 15%.
