Project Manager Mathijs Kok has taken to the Aerosoft forums to inform the community on the plans for the release of the long-awaited A330 Professional on Prepar3D V4. The forum post made it clear that everything is “tentative and subjects to change,” but this is the first we have heard of a release time frame in a long time from the developers.
Firstly, the release window. According to the forum post, right now, the team are working towards a “first week of December release date.” Upon release, the aircraft will cost “roughly” €60.00 (plus VAT), but if you own any of the previous Airbus Professional Products, it will cost roughly €45.00. The reason this is higher than anticipated is that there is a lot of new code inside the aircraft along with new features such as the EFB and updated texturing.
Mathijs Kok went onto say that there will be no paid livery packs and was also open in that there is no DRM in the installer. Finally, it is confirmed that if there are any additional model or engine types developed, then there will be no additional cost.
Finally, the post was concluded by saying that anyone attending FS Weekend in Lelystad during early November will get their chance to try it out. Fortunately, members of the FSElite team will be attending the event to get hands-on with the product.
