Flight Simulator VATSIM Partnership Update and Dev Q&A

Over on the Microsoft Flight Simulator blog, a series of videos and information has been shared with regards to VATSIM and also a full-length Q&A session.

VATSIM Partnership

Whilst announced a few weeks ago, the VATSIM Partnership series focuses on what VATSIM is for newcomers and how the online virtual air traffic control network will go hand-in-hand with the new simulator.

The video goes into detail on how VATSIM works, how events form a huge part of the community and how both pilots and controllers work together for an immersive experience. If you’re a newcomer to the simulator, there is plenty of tutorials, training sessions and online content freely available to help you with your needs.

Setting up yourself on the network is easy. Select your airport, click fly and then load up a piece of software called vPilot to connect you to this online world.

If you haven’t already created a VATSIM account, you can do so via their website.

Developer Q&A

An hour-long live stream took place yesterday with Jorg Neumann (Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator), Sebastian Wloch (CEO / Co-Founder of Asobo Studio) and Martial Bossard (Lead Software Engineer at Asobo Studio). The three of them took community questions live on Twitch answering everything they could. The full stream is now available on YouTube, complete with timestamps.

As always, you can keep up to date via the Microsoft Flight Simulator blog and also see a range of new screenshots.

Not long now until August 18th 2020!

If you missed it, content creators can now live-stream the simulator.
