Supercritical Simulations Group Update on the 747-8 V2

In celebration of the Birthday to the Queen of the Skies, Supercritical Simulations Group has provided news that they are working on the 2nd version of their 747-8 for X-Plane and shared some new previews on the project.

The aircraft is being worked on from the ground up, meaning everything is going to be redone. This will include a new fuselage, additional animations and updates to the systems and the flight management systems. Whilst everything is being update, so too will the texture work. The team have confirmed that they will use 4K textures throughout.

No update regarding time frames were given, but a range of previews were shared to accompany the announcement.

Current Change List for V2

  • New fuselage
  • Added fuselage animations and details (pretty much anything that can open/move on the aircraft Is modeled).
  • New cut windows instead of textures
  • New stabilizers with added details
  • New nacelles and engines
  • Reworked landing gear
  • Improved flaps
