Teaser Video of PMDG Rain Maker

PMDG revealed that they will be bringing rain effects on the windshield of aircraft in an earlier post. This new effect, which will debut first on the upcoming 747-8 is their answer to TFDi Design’s True Glass.

The short teaser video posted on the PMDG Facebook page shows the effect slashing against the windshield. It’s short, but a sweet first glimpse into the new technology.

Just to confirm, it will be a P3DV4 exclsuive feature due to the memory limitations of FSX. This was confirmed by PMDG in their original post. The technology will eventually make its way to the 747-400, 777 and the future NG3.

As and when any more previews become available, we’ll inform you.

well exactly there is a better one try Aerowinx PSX, its the real deal! used for training pilots and is used for home cockpits. for scenery you can use x plane!

What’s the big deal? Fs9 has had rain for centuries. Another PMDG over hyped product. They are as bad as rex.

FS9 maybe has but none of the complex plane in FSX/P3D had it for so many years.

Why would you say “over hyped”? Did I missed something or there is no better 737/777/747 for these to sims? As bad as REX? Just curious, – what is wrong in your opinion about these two companies then? And no, I’m not a fanboy with level “kill for their glory” of any company.

A 10 second video.. that’s it?

This is how PMDG always or for a long time present their products. Nothing new, nothing shocking and to be honest I did not expect any other way from them.

how about it showing it at different speeds? right now it shows.. nothing really. compare this “preview” to trueglass initial showing. pmdg being obtuse as usual

what more do you want? a full movie with interviews dictating what it is? im sure you can deal with it

Is John Grisham going to sue PMDG?

Every pmdg update I’m getting more excited with the 747-8!
