Have You Made The Jump to P3D Version 4

Launch V4 1

On May 30th 2017, Lockheed Martin finally released the long anticipated version 4 of Prepar3D. With multiple aircraft, scenery and utilities now available for the 64-bit sim, I want to see how many people have started the transition from a 32-bit era to the 64-bit one.

I know that this poll may seem a bit premature considering that some big products have yet to be converted and that we’re in the infancy of this new sim, but I wanted to form some kind of basis for an article I’m writing.

I’m not expecting any long comments below, but simply just answering a simple question.

Have you made the jump from FSX (any version), P3D V1, V2 or V3 to V4?

Click either box below to register your vote. I’m going to run this for a few days and see what response we get. Please be honest, don’t try and spam as it won’t achieve what I want it to do. Furthermore, this isn’t about future purchases, but whether you have migrated NOW or not.

And to clarify, this is a complete jump – not using another version in conjunction with V4.

If the below doesn’t work, head to the link here.

  1. Your poll doesn’t seem to work. When I click on it, nothing happens.

I will continue to use FSX and P3d v3 for another year. In about a year, P3d v4 should be ready to go. Now a lot of developers are just making the transition.

  2. POLL doesn’t work.. anyway, my primary sim is XP11 and will continue to be well into the forseeable future.. but i’m closely following P3D4 and may migrate to it in Dec 2017 or Summer 2018.. depending on how soon my critical addons become available – QW 787, AS A330, FT airports, etc.. i expect all FT & T2G airports to have native dynamic lighting.. or else no point in getting v4.

  3. I switched from P3D v3 to P3D v4 this week. I am fairly new to flight sim though. I started with FSX Steam Edition but it crashed a lot with addons. Then I switched to P3D and had a blast for a couple of months but it took so freaking long to start up a flight and I use a GTX 1070. I think of transitioning to P3D v4 as a great opportunity to pace building up my sim with addons. The addons are overwhelming to a newbie and I have found I have a penchant for scenery collecting so it’s working well right now for buying up addons as they get updated or released. Plus the stability is night and day. That alone to me is worth the jump. I am loaded up with Orbx, flightbeam, fsdreamteam, etc and it only takes 90 seconds to be at the gate when I start up. Before it was seriously 7 to 8 minutes.

    1. No worries. More social stuff will be coming soon.

      Thanks for the continued support.
