TFDi Design Announces TrueGlass

TFDi Design, the developers that have brought us SmartCARS and the 717 have just announced their latest product. It is going by the name of TrueGlass and will provide rain droplet effects for P3D v4 only. TFDi have created custom rain drops which look to have turned out very nicely.

The droplets will interact with the windscreen wipers, being removed when wipers are turned on. They will also interact with speed changes and move off the windscreen as speed increases.

At this stage, it only works with TFDi’s 717 but they are in contact with other developers to make it compatible.

I've always had a passion for aviation from a very young age. I started simming for the first time in 2010 and have been hooked ever since. A member of FSElite since its early days, I have enjoyed being a part of the rapid growth that has taken place over the last year. Which has propelled us to become one of the largest flight simulation media sites. I look forward to the future and would like to thank you all for the continued support. | View My Specs

@FLYING12: True, isn’t this coming next week via P3D v4.1? Why this when it will be baked in by default?

VFx (from another site). Summed this up:

“Let me help you out.

P3D 4.1 now has built in rain effects engine that works with default aircraft.

What TFDi have done is create their custom effects system for their own aircraft and are open to licensing the technology to other developers (like how Turbine sound studios design sound for PMDG, QW, etc).

Now its up to your respective payware developer to either use the default window rain, borrow from TFDi or create their own system too. we shall see.”

@BELL. Two sites are not every flight sim news website. I was not sure what site would provide the answer to my question hence asking here and there.

Did you just copy and paste this on every flight sim news website?

Confused.. what is the difference between this a what LM is releasing this week?

It should a must on each fucking plane imo

Will it be free for the TFDI 717?

Or will it be a payable extension?

Any information on FSFX’s Reolay thing?
