It has been awhile since we’ve heard from Sunskyjet but now they are back with some news and previews of their upcoming scenery, Detroit Metro airport, KDTW. First off, development is nearly completed but there are some remaining areas around the gates that need additional detail. Shots of the terminal up close will be shown as they are deemed finished and the hope is to have a beta by the end of April with a following pre-release going out to those have donated to Sunskyjet over the years.

Caught in the comments was some additional information, and that is as follows. KDTW will be released for FSX-P3D v4 with a possible conversion to X-Plane being considered. In addition to this, it was also announced that KPHL will be receiving some love after the release of DTW with Sunskyjet having “big plans” for the scenery!

That’s all for now but if we spot any other information shared, we’ll let you know!

DTW is a double-edged sword. Granted we’re getting it for free from SSJ, but I can’t help feeling we would have seen it a long time ago from another pay developer if SSJ wasn’t in the picture.

We have seen multiple developers produce the same scenery recently. I cannot believe that a freeware version, taking years to produce, is the only reason no-one else is making DTW.

In any case, despite the wait, it’s good to see some quality freeware being worked on. Will give a donation for this.

never could or would I complain about getting this level of scenery as freeware (or donationware), but BIG PLANS???? I mean it took them this long for DTW and still its not here. Unless they plan on doing this full-time or bringing in some full time help, I really don’t see how “big plans” will work… but none the less I wish them luck because he does great work.
