SFD Global for X-Plane 11 Updated to Version 1.1

XiO28RZ

X-Plane developer ShortFinal Designs released an update to SFD Global. Version 1.1 features completely new forests with improved textures and inner-city buildings to the Mediterranean region. The ability to add a standard resolution option to terrain textures and minor bug fixes have also been included in version 1.1.

SFD Global Version 1.1 provides high-definition ground textures , forests, and custom region-specific autogen. The scenery is rendered to the highest standards using modern techniques such as the use of PBR materials and baked ambient occlusion. Eight different regions are included and provide unique 3D buildings with 4K textures. New forest autogen covers the landscape and features a more realistic size and density. The terrain is based on high-resolution aerial imagery and is compatible with both default and third-party meshes.

A new installer has been uploaded to the X-Plane.org store, simply uninstall version 1.0 and install version 1.1 to update. SFD Global can be purchased from the X-Plane.org store for $30.00.

Changelog:

  • Added inner-city buildings to Mediterranean autogen region.
  • Completely reworked forests (better textures, more realistic colors, more density, region specific vegetation etc..)
  • Added standard resolution option for terrain textures.
  • Fix for autogen buildings on low/medium object density settings (flat buildings instead of dark shadows.
