Prepar3D 4.1 Released

Prepar3D V4 Logo 1140×500 1

Lockheed Martin have just released P3D v4.1, the first major update that has come to the platform since it’s release. This comes earlier than originally proposed and is a pleasant suprise. It is likely that we will see some more addons rolling out now that this update has released. Be aware that some addons may not work at this stage.

If you wish to view the changelog we have left it below, however here is a link to the official post from Lockheed Martin.

Installation instructions
In order to upgrade you only need to update the Client to get the 4.1 update. It’s optional to update Content, Scenery and SDK. To update you have to first uninstall the Prepar3D 4.0 Client via Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel. By installing this product it will reactivate and an internet connection must be used, done automatically with connection.

If videos are more your thing, check out Matt Davie’s video on how to correctly install P3D v4.1.

Changelog notes
By looking at the change log you can see that dynamic lighting hasn’t been modified. VC rain is seen on default planes or vehicles as P3D calls it. Another new feature is that 4K virtual cockpit support is now available for users with 4K screens.

Here you can see what’s been changed and/or new features:

  1. I wonder how much of P3D’s user base, actually makes use of VR. Seems to me they are extensively investing man hours into something that given its current state passes for nothing more than a gimmick..

    1. Don’t forget, they’re market is ‘professionals’ (e.g. military, schools, etc), so I imagine they only added it as the demand there was high.

    1. IKR, LOL, guess ill download the next update when sloped runways come in, im not desperate for rain drops specially being only for default aircraft…!
