Orbx have marked the start of their venture into the X-Plane scenery development scene, with the release of Meigs Field (KCGX) for X-Plane.

We reported a few weeks back that Orbx had teamed up with Skyline Simulations to bring their sceneries to X-Plane, and now this has come to fruition with Meigs Field being the first in a long line of sceneries due to be ported to the X-Plane platform.

In a post on the Orbx forum, the features of this scenery are said to include:

  • Ultra detailed rendition of KCGX Meigs Field circa late 90’s and early 2000’s
  • Many highly detailed Chicago landmarks, including Soldier Field, Cloudgate, Adler Planetarium, Navy Pier and The Shedd
  • Custom CBD for Chicago skyline including Sears Tower, Aeon Center, Trump Tower, Hancock Center
  • Thousands of autogen buildings accurately placed
  • Airport imagery at 30cm per pixel
  • Beautifully modelled static aircraft

Meigs Field is a much-loved scenery in the P3D/FSX world, and it’s sure to become a favourite with X-Plane users.

The scenery is available now to purchase for AUD$32.95, and is installable through FTX Central for Windows users. Users of X-Plane for MacOS and Linux can download and install manually with a .zip archive through their account page on the Orbx website.
