Orbx Previews TrueEarth US Oregon for X-Plane 11

Orbx True Earth Oregon X Plane 11 (7)

Orbx has officially shared the first previews of their next US TrueEarth package. The state of Oregon is south of the TrueEarth US Washington series, giving X-Plane 11 user even great coverage in the United States for highly detailed scenery.

Known as the Beaver State, the state of Oregon features a wide variety of terrain to see and explore. From build-up towns and cities and huge forests to the mountainous region of the west and dry deserts. The Orbx team has built TrueEarth US Oregon with 10m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and LiDAR data, some of the highest quality you can currently obtain. As with other TrueEarth packages, the product contains hand-corrected and sharpened aerial imagery throughout and has spent a lot of time focusing on water masking.

Further to the terrain, TrueEarth US Oregon also features millions of accurately placed buildings, trees and other objects for those that enjoy seeing the virtual world low and slow. All of the points of interest have been designed with PBR giving a realistic effect. Also included in the product is a CityScape of Portland, giving a detailed rendition of the city in X-Plane 11. Other enhanced cities include Eugene, Corvallis and Salem.

When TrueEarth US Oregon is released, it will be available in two packages. The Standard Definition (SD) edition uses 2.4m/pixel (ZL16) sharpened orthoimagery and is approximately 63GB in size. TE USA Oregon SD will be available for AUD$54.95. However, if you’re looking for more detail, a High Definition (HD) version will also be made available. TrueEarth US Oregon HD uses 1.2m/pixel (ZL17) orthoimagery and takes 225GB disk space when uncompressed by Orbx Central. The HD version is ideally suited to those with a more powerful machine and has a video card with more than 8GB. TE USA Oregon HD will be available for AUD$64.95.

If you purchase the HD version you will get the SD version for free. If you’re looking to upgrade in the future, you can upgrade from SD to HD for AUD$10.
