Just Flight Tornado F3 for P3D Released

Developer Just Flight has released the Tornado F3 for Prepar3D v4 and Prepar3D v5. Developed by the same team which created the Hawk T1/A Advanced Trailer, the Vulcan and also the Tornado GR1, this new product adds the iconic military aircraft to the simulator.

The Tornado F3 is a twin-seat interceptor version of the Panavia Tornado. Being equipped with the Foxhunter multi-mode track-while-scan, pulse doppler air-intercept radar to detect and target hostile, the aircraft is versatile in any weather condition. The aircraft proved popular with nearly 200 of the type build since it was introduced in 1979.

As with other Just Flight aircraft, the Tornado F3 comes with 4K texturing, realistic systems, a fully 3D cockpit and custom-coded systems and avionics. In the detailed feature list, the team said the cockpit features a realistic head-up0display, functioning navigator displays and also interactive checklists for each phase of flight. The aircraft also comes with detailed animations, modelling and PBR texture work throughout. Further to the detailed modelling, Just Flight has included custom-coded fuel and electrical systems and avionics.

If flying this iconic fighter jet is for you, then you can buy it from Just Flight’s website for £32.99.

  • Reverse buckets, in-flight refuelling probe and arrestor hook
  • Canopy and canopy support strut
  • Detailed pilots with visors and masks
  • Accurately animated control surfaces including tailerons, flaps, slats, spoilers and airbrakes
  • Range of payload options, selectable via a custom 2D panel:
    – Skyflash – a medium-range semi-active radar homing air-to-air missile
    – AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile)
    – ASRAAM (Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile)
    – PHIMAT pod – a chaff dispensing pod (with chaff effect)
    – BOZ 107 pod – a counter-measure dispensing pod (with counter-measure effects)
    – AIM-9 Sidewinder – a short-range air-to-air missile
    – 1500L drop tank
    – 2500L drop tank
  • Ground equipment, including crew ladder, ground power unit, flags and covers
  • Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials produce realistic metallic, plastic and glass surfaces (requires P3D v4.4 and above)
  • 4096×4096 textures are used to produce the highest possible texture clarity
  • Bump and specular mapping used throughout the aircraft to produce a truly 3D feel

  • Authentic dimmable night lighting system in P3D v5. Dimmable electro-luminescent and gauge backlighting for P3D v4 users, with on/off floodlighting
