After many years of development, scenery developer Godzone has released NZCH Christchurch airport. Christchurch is the second busiest airport in New Zealand, seeing frequent flights from airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Jetstar Airways and of course, Air New Zealand. Destinations served from Christchurch Airport include Hong Kong, Wellington, Auckland, Dubai and Sydney.
Robin Corn, a developer at Godzone, has spent several years bringing the airport to life where he was born and raised. Much of the character of the airport is the surrounding city, which has been modelled within the scenery in its current state. In total, over 7,000 square kilometres of scenery has been included, all high in resolution (at least 1.2 metre/pixel). The airport itself, is even higher in resolution with ground texture at 7cm/px.
Also included at the airport is a range of custom-designed buildings, all textured based on the real-world airport, along with SODE jetways and dynamic lighting (P3Dv4). Furthermore, an ‘ini’ file has been included to add GSX features such as the visual guidance system to the gates. The product, available currently for Prepar3D V3 and V4 works with and without Orbx’s New Zealand South Island product.
As mentioned, Godzone Christchurch International Airport is available for P3Dv3 and V4, with an FSX version coming in the next few weeks. However, if you buy the P3Dv3/v4 version, you will get the FSX version included in your license upon release. This will also work vice-versa. There is also possible plans to convert the product to X-Plane 11 and Aerofly FS 2, which would require a different license if/when those versions get released.
At the time of writing, Godzone Real New Zealand NZCH Christchurch is available from the Godzone store for USD $25.35 / €22.32 / NZD $38.00. If you used Kickstarter to back this product, here’s the official word from the development team:
Those who prepaid should now be able to access the download attached to their order on my website.
Some Kickstarter supporters (Ultimate and Level 1) should have received an email via the Kickstarter site with further details.
Other Kickstarter supporters, please just be a little more patient while I organise a suitable way to supply a download — if you are interested in the Prepar3d version, then you can order from my site in the meantime, choose ‘Pre-arranged payment’ as the payment method, and once I verify your order I’ll activate the download.
