Aerosoft Releases A318/319 Professional

Airbus News Bild

Developer Aerosoft has released their highly anticipated A318/A319 Professional airplanes for P3Dv4 – the first in a series of planes developed exclusively for 64-bit platforms.

Available for immediate download on their website, the A318/A319 Professional represents a completely overhauled product that encompasses a variety of systems on the airplane. Aerosoft promises that this product is NOT a recompiled 32-bit product, but instead a ground-up rebuild of the plane.

While the list of features is long (see below) Aerosoft cautions that not all features will be available (or working properly) with this initial release. Users can expect some features to be rolled out in the SP1 release. A list of incomplete features can be found here. Prepar3D version 4.3 is required for this airplane and it is not compatible with older versions.

The A318/A319 Professional can be purchased as a standalone product at the Aerosoft Store for $60.99 USD. The bundle can be purchased here, and will include the upcoming A320/A321.

there is a lot on the list of things that are NOT yet working. Very disappointed given the time in development, and the delays, that Aerosoft have released this with so much that is not functioning yet. A318/9 not very Professional.

@Alex, your defense of AS is admirable, but I do expect my “complex aircraft” to do step climbs 🙂

And have you ever bought a complex aircraft that was complete on release? : )

Has anyone of you bought and tested the plane before raging against a publisher who admits openly to the problems they still have and is Wirkung in Thema?

I have flown it already and had no problems whatsoever

No, releasing a “complete” product and then having a long laundry list of glaring omissions/bugs is not professional.

Not professional would have been not openly listing what is not yet working, instead of glaringly pointing at it and even with some self-deprecating humor.

but but but… wILL iT hAvE wInGfLeX?!?!?!?!

Another open beta for the community to pay full price for, but wait weeks to receive patches to fundamental parts of the product.

I’ll wait to see what state the Airbus is in at SP1 before deciding whether to buy this or not.

And the bundle is already live at Simmarket!

So i bought both packs of the previous versions separate at day 1. So in total i payed more than the old bundle. And now i have to buy them separateley again at higher price because i cant get the bundle discount…. feels a bit unfair.

Interesting! I tried it again but it sais “This voucher is only valid for certain products!” I have both products in my account. I don’t get it! 🙁 never mind…. I think I am going to buy big jar of Ben&Jerry`s on that 10euros what I am not going to spend on Aerosoft 🙂 🙂 🙂

I just gave it a try at the aerosoft webshop. Put the bundle in the shopping cart and entered the serial of my old a318/a319 at the coupon field and got the full discount of the bundle. 40 euros for the bundle with just entering one serial. So maybe i was a bit quick on my conclusion.:) dont know if it worked because i registered both packs on my account in the past or if it is just a “bug” in the aerosoft shop. Most importantly, it worked. So @Bence just give it a try!

I spent a few hours to chat with one of the Aerosoft representative on FaceBook. The final result is that they don’t care. Robert and I have the option to upgrade our product for 30euros each, total 60euros. We can`t use bundle offer for 40euros. : ( not happy I am definitely not going to upgrade both product

Write them a ticket, I am sure they will help you. I also bought the A318/A19 (the FSX/P3Dv3 version)… and after some time the A320/A321… technically there wasn’t a discount but they gave me a serial which I could use to get it cheaper. I am sure, the same will apply here.

Definitely buying once the 320/321 comes along to get the full fleet. While its not a failure trainer als the FS Labs. At least you get the full fleet for normal non failure flight. Great stuff AS. And we get the baby bus. Shame FS Labs won’t touch it. Real shame.

The Aerosoft Airbus is not the same system depth, fidelity and immersion as the FSLabs Airbus. And it isn’t trying to be!

The FSLabs Airbus series, is unbeatable when it comes to sounds environment, immersion factor, system depth and modelling, in my honest opinion.

Yes, you pay more for it – but if you want the best, you gotta pay for it.

Real airlines wont touch it too, unpopular variant like the 737-600 which has been discontinued. With Embraer 195 E2, sukhoi superjet, the new bombardier reguonal jet, the chinese COMAC and the mitsubishi regional jet the a318 is headed for death, except for private flight or special intercontinental routes. Sad but true.

I don’t see core functions missing. Which do you mean? Connected flight deck?

No you don’t. You get something that looks similar with same numbers displayed that do not change to various environmental conditions. You do not get an accurate flight model. Heck, look at their list, there core functions missing. That has nothing to do with a failure trainer!

Get FSLabs and fly a real bus

blackbox is a FORMER a320 rated pilot. he hasn’t been in a real airbus in a few years. he is doing things from memory, best he can.

dude… “a real”? really? go watch a streamer called “Blackbox” on twitch, he is a real lufthansa a320 pilot – and he already showed that FSLabs is nice, but its far away from “pro”.

I’ll get the FSLabs when I’m required to take my nightmare checkride simulation. For everyday regular flight, Aerosoft’s will do just fine. ; )

breaks my heart, disappointed by aerosoft

it looks nice, maybe not at FSLabs simulations level but enough for me

why you do another CRJ AS why… jesus.. just delay it more. it will piss people off less than releasing something that isnt working. im not going to buy it now it if will take them 8 months to make it working ala crj.

I claim that the CRJ is still a train wreck of an addon.

I should know. It was the first v4 plane I bought and gave up on it after the 5th patch that failed to make it usable in any sense of the word. what are they up to now anyway? because I gave up on that disaster. you can however keep hitting that F5 on your account page to see if there is a new patch for it this week that fixes 40000 bugs and yet nothing in the sim changes. your mileage may vary.

Matthias you must be trolling. the CRJ was a disaster and it took them 8 months to get it “working”. and its autopilot is still on crack.

or are you going to claim with a straight face the CRJ was working on release? do tell.

The crj is working? Where did you get that from?

Well done Aerosoft, more power to the modest simmer! Bravo.

Matthias Pietsch

Looking at that list: you are buying a beta version with core functions missing. A captain simulator. Yeah right…,

But hey, stop complaining… it’s not a bug, its a feature!

Anders Bermann

It is kind of a joke, that they guard themselves behind the explanation, that whenever weird behaviour or bugs, is excused with “that happens with the real aircraft as well”…

I mean, come on!

Aerosoft is pretty good at listening to their community and their forum users – but I have never – to this date – witnessed a developer excuse faults or bugs in their software, with explanations like, that it happens in real life as well… That’s just sad!

Do you seriously suggest, that the Aerosoft Airbus, is modelled in such detail and with such system depth, that even bugs in the real airplane, is replicated…

They’ve released, days ago, a list of yet to be solved bugs (some have already been scratched from the list) and you say they don’t acknowledge them? : ). It’s a joke. Some people are so whinning and demanding on their forums that they *should* be reminded that even the real aircraft’s software is buggy.

Anders Bermann

You’re kidding?!

They release an aircraft, where apparently functions suddenly behaves weirdly or stops working. And instead of acknowledge it, they explain (or excuse it) with an explanation, that the real airplanes behaves the same way! No, it’s NOT a bug! It’s a feature. It happens in real life as well… LOL! That’s just amusing in a kinda sad way…

You can’t win, can you? Two days ago: “When will Aerosoft ever release their Airbus? Never!” Now: “What’s this? Aerosoft releases an unfinished product!” And they have been open about it! For days! The nerve! : ) Meanwhile, happy pilots are flying a baby bus that costs a fraction of the other developer’s (yes, a bit simpler too), but allows to simulate real world procedures following all embedded 16 checklists from start to finish with a semi-intelligent copilot until FS2Crew releases their version of Crew addon. The other pilots are left with a super realistic Bus cockpit, granted, that they have to fly and solve emergencies all by themselves, alone, because every flight has an incapacitated copilot. Even better than the real thing, huh? ; ) If I wanted a checkride sim…

Not a happy camper

“Pilots then disable the AP and fly the aircraft!”

…and then it goes straight to maintenance and will be out of service for a few weeks.

The cornerstone of the airbus family is its autoflight and management.

So we give you an airbus with those not working.

Thats what this list tells me. Im done with this. back to the 787 i go.

NIIICE <3 Aerosoft!

It looks great! I may get it just because of the A318 since there’s no much hope that FSLabs will do that one.

Single Handedly why I will never buy the FS Labs. At least Aerosoft gives you the full fleet. And while it doesnt simulate virtual toilets and crap. It does a nice job normal a to b flying.

Use your serial code to get discount.

Anyone buy it yet? Please let us know how it performs…..and if you love it. I will likely buy it to support the developer but want to hear the deets first. Thanks guys!

The worst performer ive ever bought. Locked 30 fps with all pmdg, crj,dhc6,and so on…. 7fps with this. Not refundable….Thank you AS.

nope. im waiting for non biased feedback and youtube streams so I can judge on my own. im very apprehensive given the list of bugs/incompletes they tell us it comes with (imagine what isn’t mentioned).

I will buy it, but when its up to snuff.

Maxkillers “Maxkillers Gaming”

Nice, but I prefer the a320/;

New from ground up, huh? Ok, well, guess I´ll have to get new glasses than.

Yeah, it is far from the ground up… model ist still the same.. actually it is still the same from the old old Airbus, since even those liveries are still working (which is kind of a good thing).. but it is not new as they claim.

Those sounds I heard in streams are just as bad as before. Now that i know how good it can sound, it is even worse. All in all I could not see any difference to the old bus, apart from the coffee. And you may argue, that the underlying code might have changed… yes but I could fly from A to B before already… what exactly has changed and what are the improvements? On 50 pages preview topic nobody can tell you that.

And guess what @Alex, they both have APUs! Fkn incredible!

You’re right. The previous model had one wing and two engines and the new one still has one wing and two engines. No improvement there.
