Active Sky for P3Dv4 Has Been Released

ACTIVE SKY 16 90 1140×600

HiFi Simulations has officially released Active Sky for P3Dv4 (ASP4) today. Since the release of Prepar3D V4, the team has had a copy of the popular weather engine in beta for users to test out. The platform is essentially a 64-bit compatible version of Active Sky 2016.

ASP4 comes with a new 64-bit ASConnect simulator interface, 64-bit XGauge, air effect enhancements, new visibility depiction enhancements and more. Furthermore, ASP4 also works in conjunction with Active Sky Cloud Art – which is also compatible with P3Dv4. Active Sky Cloud Art enables you to have real-time texture changes in the sim to match the weather situation.

Active Sky for P3Dv4 offers the same functionality as Active Sky 2016, but provides compatibility for the new 64-bit sim. It’s a little confusing but here’s the basics:

If you use FSX, FSX:SE or P3Dv3, then continue to use Active Sky 2016.

If you use P3Dv4, then download Active Sky for P3Dv4.

If you were using the ASP4 beta, be sure to uninstall it before you install the official release.

Also, if you own AS16 already, there’s no upgrade fees or additional payments needed as your AS16 (for P3D) licence is also valid for ASP4.

Head over to www.hifisimtech.com/downloads to download the latest version of Active Sky (regardless of version).
