Developer Month: Carenado – They aren’t All that Bad

Welcome to the FSElite Developer Month. Our theme this year is about delivering for the community and part of that is delivering great content to you all. As part of our commitment to you all, we’re pleased to announced Developer Month – a month themed solely around celebrating our great development community. Over the course of March, you’ll be treated to some behind the scene looks at some of our favourite developers, stories from the FSElite team, exclusive interviews and more.

As part of Developer Month, the FSElite team wanted to look at some of their favorite developers and write a short story celebrating why it is they are their favorite. This could be for a single reason or many, but the fact remains, these developers hold a special place in each person’s heart.

Today, I wanted to talk about Carenado and why they aren’t all that bad. To do this I have created a Video showing off most of the Carenado planes I own, and explaining why they are one of if not my favorite developer. The TL;DR Version of it is they make good addons, despite their reputation in the Sim community. No one really disputes their Visual quality, but often their systems and Flight model are the things called into question. Well if I’m honest the systems that you need are there; And most of the systems that are not modeled are not really critical to operating the Aircraft. As for the Flight model. Well if the plane matches the performance charts, and handles as it should when put in a particular situation. Is it not a good flight model? There are meany other reasons why I like Carenado. You can hear them all in the Video. Enjoy.

Check back with us tomorrow when we’ll have some images from Drzewiecki Design’s development lab!
