Yawman has announced it is now an official partner in the Designed for Xbox Hardware program, marking a significant milestone for the company behind the handheld Arrow flight controller.
Speaking from Carmel, Indiana, the company confirmed the partnership will pave the way for expanded functionality and native integration for future devices within the Xbox ecosystem, something many users have been asking for since launch.
“We’re honored to join the Xbox ecosystem and build on Yawman’s foundation to work hand in hand with Xbox,” said Yawman inventor and co founder, Thomas Nield.
Since its debut, the Arrow has established itself as a flexible and compact alternative to traditional hardware, combining a yoke, throttle quadrant and mechanically linked rudder system into a single controller. It currently supports Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android, and this new partnership will influence the direction of future products, particularly for those hoping to use the hardware on console.
“We’ve received amazingly positive feedback from our customers about the Arrow and the number one request is hardware that works seamlessly with the Xbox ecosystem,” the team added. “This partnership with Xbox is the first essential step towards delivering on that commitment.”
The current (non-Xbox version) Arrow is available worldwide from retailers including Sporty’s Pilot Shop, Aerosoft, Player1 Sim Gear, The Gamesmen, Mwave and Yawman’s official online store.
More details about future Xbox-enabled hardware are expected at a later date.
