After revealing the project only days ago, developer XWind Studios has announced the release of Green Bay–Austin Straubel International Airport (KGRB) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. XWind Studios states “This recreation of Green Bay Airport features a basic airside terminal interior, realistic custom buildings throughout the whole airport paired with the latest layout of the airport.” The developer has also modeled the airport’s two FBOs, parking areas, and surrounding buildings including the hotel located near the terminal.
Located in the upper midwestern U.S. state of Wisconsin, KGRB is the main gateway to northeastern Wisconsin, serving over a quarter of a million passengers annually. Ranking as the fourth busiest airport in the state, KGRB has two runways used for commercial air travel and general aviation. There are two concourses with six gates each. Last year, the airport had 46,964 aircraft operations, an average of 129 per day. Airline service to and from KGRB is provided by the regional subsidiaries of American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines; Delta also operates mainline service to Atlanta. Sun Country Airlines operates a seasonal service to Fort Myers, Florida.
The developer also teased via their Facebook page that they plan to announce their next U.S. airport later in the week. So stay tuned for details as they become available.
XWind Studios’ Green Bay–Austin Straubel International Airport is available from the iniBuilds Store for £8.49 GBP excluding taxes.
