Laminar Research released a small but important update to X-Plane 12 on 9th December, 2025. The update, which brings X-Plane up to 12.3.3, is a hotfix that solves compatibility issues for simmers using Nvidia’s newest driver 591.44.
The update also fixes an issue that intermittently occurs when instancing objects using the SDK. It was especially prevalent when using the Hot Start Challenger 650.
The hotfix is publicly available now for all users. There is no beta for this update. Steam users are advised to NOT be in the beta branch in order to receive the update.
MacOS users are advised to update to the latest installer (5.2.1). This will resolve the error : “(the technical problem was: is a directory)”
