Working Weather Radar Coming to X-Plane 12

Weather radars will be native in X-Plane 12 very soon.

Laminar Research has confirmed that a new Weather Radar simulation is coming soon to X-Plane 12. This was previewed by a new video from Philipp Ringler over on YouTube, with footage from within the simulator demonstrating the new radar.

You will be able to adjust various settings such as the tilt, mode, and gain – all to paint an accurate picture of the weather ahead of you. Manual and auto modes are both functional with this new simulation. You will be able to use this information to then aviate around dangerous conditions (or fly right through it if you’re a daredevil).

The new weather radar simulation will work with a number of planes in X-Plane 12, with Airbus and Boeing models specifically shown off in the YouTube video. There is also a little surprise at the end of the video, with more info on that coming soon.

For now, enjoy the video of the upcoming weather radar simulation coming soon to X-Plane 12. If you’re looking to buy a copy of X-Plane 12, you can do so from their store for $79.99.
