Developers Wing42 has released a brand new update to their Lockheed Vega. Version 0.85 brings a range of new features including new cowling and engine models, a dialogue-driven ground crew interface and a range of new liveries.
One of the big changes to the product is the changes to the sound engine in the simulation. Every control of the cockpit, including the screeching of the window wipers, is now audible. You can adjust these sound effects with the new panel included. Version 0.85 hasn’t replaced the engine sounds, as this is planned for version 0.90.
As mentioned before, another significant change is the addition of the new dialogue-driven ground crew. When requested, a pop-up will display your new rampie, Heinrich. You will be able to have conversations with him and also issue instructions for what you want to happen with your aircraft. Whether that be for oil changes, loading up cargo, etc. It looks to be a neat little integration with a cute interface.
Other changes include an extensive upgrade to the mixture control, various new variants and liveries (including a sneak peek at the upcoming Wiley Post’s Winnie Mae) and changes to the engine starter, primer and ignitor.
The full list of changes can be found in this PDF file.
The Wing42 Lockheed Vega is available in early-access form. You can buy it now from their store for €35.00, which is €10 cheaper than it will be once the full version has been released.
