Over on Facebook, Windsock Simulations has announced development of Ibiza Airport for X-Plane 11. Ibiza Airport is the main international airport serving the Balearic Islands and is a major European holiday destination. Ryanair, British Airways, and Air Europa are just a few of the airlines that advertise year round service to Ibiza with destinations around Europe. Vueling has established a seasonal base in Ibiza, a majority of the flights in and out of Ibiza are operated seasonally by a large array of European airlines like KLM, easyJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, TUI, and others. In 2018, Ibiza served over 8.1 million passengers with 76,995 aircraft movements.
Windsock Simulations’ Ibiza is being produced in cooperation with Aerosoft and Sim-Wings. This representation of Ibiza Airport accurately models the airport and surrounding area in full detail. All of the buildings on and around the airport have been accurately modeled along with custom ground polys. Hand-placed scenery including vegetation, parked cars, and street lamps line the airport perimeter. Included with the airport will be custom ortho scenery for the entire island and some of the Ibiza cityscape. No release date or price was listed, however, Windsock Simulations noted that the airport was 95% done. The only remaining work is the ortho scenery and cityscape.
