WF Scenery Design has confirmed that Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH) V2 is now officially in development, sharing the news as part of its Chinese New Year project update. The upcoming release is described as a major overhaul of the original scenery, with completely rebuilt models, enhanced detail across the airport, and extensive performance optimisations aimed at delivering a more realistic and smoother experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
According to the developer, the new version will feature a fully refreshed airport layout alongside the inclusion of Hong Kong’s under-construction terminal, ensuring the scenery reflects current real-world development. Hong Kong V2 is planned for release on both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, offering compatibility across both platforms.

Looking beyond Hong Kong, WF Scenery Design also outlined its future roadmap, confirming that work will shift next to an expansion project for Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This will include new runways and satellite terminals, aligning the scenery with ongoing construction progress at one of China’s busiest aviation hubs.
WF Scenery Design says more previews and development updates will be shared in the coming months as work continues on Hong Kong V2.
