VRS Announces TacPack and Superbug v1.6

Vertical Reality Simulations has announced a new version of their popular TacPack and Superbug add-ons. The new version, which is numbered 1.6, will finally add support for Prepar3D v5. The move was a particularly tough one, as several features needed to be completely rewritten to make them compatible with DirectX 12.

The basic functions of TacPack haven’t really changed much, although the team did add support for dynamic lighting and improved effects. Coming soon after the release of TacPack 1.6, the team will release ‘Aggressor AI’ for v1.6 exclusively. This will add several functionalities to TacPack, such as BVR engagements, dog fighting and wingman tasks. As for the Superbug, v1.6 adds dynamic light on the external model as well as virtual cockpit.

Due to the extensive effort that has gone into the TacPack and Superbug v1.6 update, the team is unable to grant these upgrades for free. For TacPack, there will be an upgrade fee involved of $29.90 if you upgrade from P3Dv4 to P3Dv5. However, if you continue using TacPack on P3Dv4 no upgrade fee is required, even if you upgrade to v1.6. For the Superbug v1.6, no upgrade fee will be required.
