Volanta users will be pleased to learn that the flight tracking application has been updated to version 1.1.0.8. The new version enhances the experience for both free and premium users of the app. The biggest new addition for premium users is the ability to now remote pause under various conditions.
Premium users can now use the remote pause functionality to pause the simulator under specific conditions. For example, you can pause near the top of descent marker or even a specific number of miles away from it. You can also pause the sim when your aircraft reaches a certain waypoint, or even at a specific time. You can activate this from any client or website and native mobile app support is coming at a later time.
Other enhancements across the app itself include improved VATSIM boundaries, upgraded SimBrief aircraft list, and added missing icons for the A339 and the A338. There are some fixes too, all of which are found in the changelog below.
Volanta is a free flight-tracking tool that can be used with any primary desktop simulator. It enables you to see other virtual pilots, online ATC and save your flights to the cloud. A Premium version of Volanta also exists that gives you more features such as high-resolution screenshot saving, schedules, and more. You can subscribe to Volanta Premium for AU$6.35 (excluding tax).
Premium enhancements
- Added scheduled pauses for premium users. This new feature leverages the existing remote pause functionality to pause the sim when certain conditions are met. You can set it up to pause near the top of descent marker (or X nautical miles before it), or at a certain distance from the destination airport, or at a certain waypoint from your ATC route, or at a specific time. The scheduled pause can also be activated from any client or the website, not just the one connected to the sim (native mobile app support is coming later).
Enhancements
- Improved VATSIM approach boundaries to have more accurate boundaries based on the SimAware TRACON Project, which will be updated regularly.
- Updated our supported SimBrief aircraft list with 28 new aircraft types, such as F28, C130, DA42, C182, T134 etc.
- Added missing A330neo icons (A338, A339) and older Citation models (C525, C25A, C25B).
Fixes
- Fixed Volanta starting a flight in MSFS 2024 in the main menu.
- Fixed screenshots on the map sometimes showing negative likes by private users.
- Fixed profile images not being able to be uploaded from the Settings → Account page.
