Orbx’s Volanta (flight tracking app) has been updated to version v1.10.3. The small(ish) update provides a number of quality-of-life improvements and gets things prepared ahead of the FlyByWire Simulations A380X launch tomorrow.
The new enhancements include the ability to add multiple filters for flights by using a comma to separate values. The A388 icon will be prominent for users on the map, and a new ‘dotted line’ will be shown for the flight path when no ATC route is set. There have also been various fixes too, including those that may have found startup freezes or occasional connection issues.
To celebrate the release of the A380X, Volanta is also throwing an internal event. Click “I’m going” and if you fly the A380 between October 31 at 06:00 UTC and November 4 at 06:00 UTC, you could be in with the chance of winning some free Volanta premium.
You can download Volanta for free or opt-in for the premium version for more goodies.
Enhancements
- Added “unflown” filter to schedules, when turned on, it will only show flights that you have not done before, based on matching origin, destination and flight number.
- You can now add multiple filters for flights on the map page by separating values with comma. For example, you can filter aircraft for “A388, B77W” to show all A388 and B77W flights on the map together.
- Flight filters on the map page will now be saved and loaded back the next time you open Volanta.
- Added a dotted line towards the destination airport for flights with no ATC route set.
- Made the A388 as big and majestic as it deserves to be.
Fixes
- Fixed flight lines being too thick in some cases on profile and flight pages.
- Multi-word tags can now be searched for with spaces, instead of having to omit spaces.
- Attempted to fix startup freezing and occasional connection issues.
