Flight tracking tool, Volanta, is getting a new update for its mobile app soon. Over on Twitter, the team revealed that the mapping library has the ability to render the Earth as a globe instead of a flat map.
When people ask us "why is the Volanta map flat?" we always reply "that's because the Earth is flat."

We found an option in our mapping library that makes the Earth a globe 😮
So, uh, we might have been wrong about the Earth being flat. Awkward.
Coming soon in Volanta Mobile. pic.twitter.com/86HU1qJisb
It is unclear at this time when the update will be out, but the post says it will be soon.
The new app for mobile allows users to conduct the same monitoring and tracking functions available in the desktop app. In addition, a remote pause option has also been added, which will allow users to freeze their simulator remotely in the event that their aircraft deviates from course or encounters some sort of anomaly.
We reached out to Orbx to know if the same functionality will be heading to the desktop platform in the future.
If you’re a Volanta Premium member, you can use the mobile app and keep an eye on your flights wherever you are.
