Virtual Airline Schedules now has over 97 million flight records in the database. This gets converted into over 3 million schedules in total. With about 200,000 schedules updated and exported each month for the schedule packs. At the moment Virtual Airline Schedules generate data for over 600 real-world airlines and support various formats such as PFPX, phpVMS v3 & 7 and more.
We spoke to the developers of the Virtual Airline Schedules who told us that they are working on the next generation of tools to make the schedules much more advanced. “So, first of all we are rebuilding the product from the ground up to use more modern technologies, as the technology stack it currently sits on is not something that is as easy to maintain as it used to be, due to the developers having a focus on different coding languages. What the new system will allow us to do is offer these new features; Dynamic Aircraft Type & Registration usage for each schedule, rather than a static aircraft for the entirety of the schedule; Departure Gate and Arrival Gate information at major airports initially, expanding out to smaller airports, as well as providing baggage claim information; Individual user plans, allowing an end user to search the entire schedule library to find the flight they want to simulate; Real time schedule searching option instead of having to wait 30 days for an updated schedule pack.”
