Hardware developer VIRPIL announced a new Expert Series at FSExpo 24, with a new throttle and grip the first product in this series. While this is undoubtedly exciting news for those that require the most of their hardware, VIRPIL has not forgotten about the more casual simmer.
VIRPIL announced their CADET series products a while back, and released the first product in this line-up, the VPC CDT-VMAX Throttle, earlier this year. At FSExpo, the developer shared three more products coming in the CADET that together form a complete set-up.
First is the CDT-AEROMAX Flightstick. The Aeromax is aimed at the entry/mid level aviator. It features a metal cam and spring gimbal, allowing for high precision. The Aeromax will also include an optional throttle lever module, essentially allowing for a two-in-one setup if you desire. Furthermore, the CDT-AERO Grip is included with the Aeromax, featuring a bunch of handy controls and inputs, including an analogue ministick, a 2-way mode switch, brake lever axis and a lockable twist axis.
The next product is the CDT-CTRLMAX Panel. This is a lightweight panel, offering some basic control panel features such as switches and encoders, as well as an axis, gear and flap levers. The keypad itself is backlit, and the panel self is a compact size to keep the footprint of your home cockpit low.
To really complete the CADET series, VIRPIL also announced the CDT-WAYPOINT Pedals. This is an ergonomic rudder with high precision and high quality. The rudders are built with a vertical axis movement, also featured in VIRPIL’s ACE-TORQ pedals. It features a metal cam centering mechanism to allow for precise rudder control movement.
VIRPIL’s CADET Series flightstick, panel and rudder will start arriving in Q4 2024. The developer did not share any information about the expected pricing of the units.
