VIRPIL has launched their Kickstarter campaign for the recently announced ‘Advanced Flight Simulator Yoke‘. The yoke marks VIRPIL’s entry into the civil aviation market, while the company has previously produced hardware more akin to space and military.
The yoke will feature a base unit built with a premium metal construction and contactless digital sensors to reduce potential wear and tear. The base plate can be customised with several control panels, such as a gear lever control panel, lighting control panel or an engine control panel. Furthermore, the yoke handles themselves are interchangeable, and VIRPIL has developed three for you to pick from: the B-Jet yoke handle, similar to those found on Boeing aircraft, a P-Jet yoke handle, similar to those found on Embraers and other regional jets, and a Constellation yoke handle – a continuation of VIRPIL’s own Constellation series that now also sees its debut in the yoke. Last but not least, the yoke will have several mounting mechanisms, including under desk and top desk mounts.
If you choose to back this project, upon completion, you will receive the product that you’ve backed the Kickstarter for. VIRPIL’s new yokes are currently still in the prototyping phase, but the developer expects to finalise the designs early next year, with production taking place in March-May and shipping in May-June. This is, of course, preliminary and this schedule can change.
Backing VIRPIL’s Kickstarter starts at $359, giving you access to the base with one yoke handle. There are several backing options available.
