Renowned Danish scenery developer Vidan Design has recently taken to Facebook, indicating to community members that their rendition of Billund Airport (EKBI) for MSFS has been released via the MSFS Marketplace.
Billund Airport (EKBI) is a small-to-medium-sized Danish airport, mainly serving the city of Billund, only situated 1nm to the northeast of its premises. The airport also serves as the central cargo hub for the country of Denmark and sees a significant amount of charter traffic during the summer months. Interestingly, the airport began operations in the form of a private airfield, built by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, the son of the Lego Group founder Ole Kirk Christiansen. Following increasing interest from neighboring communities, Godtfred eventually decided that the airport should be expanded and become a regular public airport.
Although no longer the property of the Lego Group, Godtfred eventually became the director of the airport, remaining an invested member in its development and a founding father of aviation in Billund. Nowadays, the airport sees numerous carriers operating at its premises, including Air France with service to Paris, KLM with service to Amsterdam, and Lufthansa with service to Frankfurt, to name but just a few.
Scenery developer Vidan Design has now provided MSFS users with an accurate and detail-rich rendition of this historic Danish airfield. Although not providing customers with a detailed feature list, those already familiar with Vidan Design’s P3D sceneries should, by observing the provided screenshots, feel reassured that this product, like so many before it, seems to live up to standards set by their previous releases.
Vidan Design’s Billund Airport (EKBI) is as of now available to interested customers via the MSFS Marketplace and will set you back €16.99. Your specific price will depend upon your selected MSFS region.
