VerticalSim took to their Discord to tease their latest projects for MSFS. While offering few details, the photo preview and message hints have many confident in their guesses for the next projects.
In their announcement, VerticalSim teased that “Disney fans are going to have a very good year” and that both airport sceneries are only “just minutes away from the magic,” implying both airports neighbor Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida. With the addition of the JetBlue hangar featured in the sole photo preview, many are confident that the Florida scenery will be at Orlando International Airport (KMCO/MCO). This would put VerticalSim in direct competition with Taxi2Gate, who released their Orlando scenery back in 2023.
For the California scenery, VerticalSim teased that the airport would be one “for those looking to avoid hubs.” The most obvious choice is John Wayne Airport (KSNA/SNA) in Santa Ana, California, located 15 minutes south of Disneyland. Another possibility for the new scenery is Long Beach Airport (KLGB/LGB), located slightly further west of Disneyland. The former SoCal base of JetBlue, LGB Airport, is another SoCal airport for those looking to skip the crowds of LAX. However, given that John Wayne Airport is the closest airport to Disneyland and Disney used to operate shuttles to the airport, it has become the most likely candidate for the new scenery.
These two new projects will mark an exciting expansion in VerticalSim’s Florida and California airport scenery portfolio. No release or future preview timeline was shared in the Discord post; however, FSElite will continue to monitor this story and share any future updates.
