Verticalsim Releases Tampa for MSFS

Verticalsim’s biggest destination yet has come to Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Verticalsim Releases Tampa for MSFS

After the first round of previews back in November last year, scenery developer Verticalsim has released their rendition of Tampa International Airport (KTPA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Tampa International Airport is the largest airport on Florida’s West Coast as is located 6 miles west of the city of Tampa. Opening in 1971, the airport is a popular destination all year round, especially for those seeking some winter sun. Tampa is served by a multitude of different airlines with 93 destinations in 11 countries. There are currently around 72 domestic flights from Tampa all across the United States.

The longest route to and from Tampa at present is Zurich, at 3,024 miles non-stop operated by an Edelweiss Air Airbus A340-300 or Airbus A330-300. The airport saw 21,527,863 passengers through its doors in 2022.

Verticalsim has created an accurate rendition of the airport as it is at present, with all terminals and surrounding buildings modelled in high detail including landmarks such as the Raymond James Stadium, International Plaza Mall, Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and more.

Other features include an up-to-date 2023 taxiway layout, animated passengers with “half-interior” airside and terminals, realistic AI traffic routing around the airport, airline afcad codes, custom taxi signs, custom airport lighting, custom jetways, a blend of custom and photorealistic ground imagery, high-resolution colour-graded imagery, animated objects throughout the airport and handcrafted mesh with taxiway bridges.
