“Tired of the nitty-gritty boring LAX flight?” asks developer Verticalsim as they have announced they will be bringing Ontario International to both X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Over on Facebook, the scenery development team confirmed that this scenic airport has been in development for a little while and will be soon landing on X-Plane 11, with a Microsoft Flight Simulator version planned at some point in the future.
Ontario International Airport (KONT) is a great alternative for those looking to explore the US’ West Coast whilst avoiding the busy LAX. A range of airlines fly to the airport including Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United. Alongside the commercial operations, there is also plenty of cargo operations happening at the airport with UPS and FedEx using MD-11s and A300 to transport packages across the US and beyond.

According to the developer’s post on Facebook, the airport will come with HDR lighting, moving vehicle traffic and also the use of SAM jetways. Those worried about performance will be pleased to hear that Verticalsim has taken advantage of LOD optimisation to ensure smooth performance throughout.
Although no date has been set, Verticalsim confirmed that Ontario International will release for $24.99 when it hits X-Plane 11 soon.
