Verticalsim Discusses Microsoft Flight Simulator Development Plans

Scenery developer Verticalsim has taken to Facebook to talk about their plans for the future. Whilst the development team is known primarily for its contributions to the X-Plane 11 market, the team will now start to also focus work on the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team will start the process of working on general aviation airports before focusing the attention to larger regional and international airports.

Right now, the plan for the team is to bring over all their current X-Plane 11 airports to the new simulator both via their own store and also on the Microsoft Marketplace. This means airports such as Tampa International Airport (KTPA), New Orleans Airport (KMSY) and Spokane Airport (KGEG) will eventually be developed for the new simulator.

The price range will start from $6 for small general aviation airports up to $20 for large international airports (and pricing in between). X-Plane 11 users may get a small discount, but it will be dependant on the amount of work to convert the airports.

As for continued X-Plane 11 development, the team intends on continuing with the platform with the currently announced airports, however, future projects will depend on demand for each platform.
