On X-Plane 11, Verticalsim had supplied numerous scenery projects under the banner VStates. This project was a way to bring high-quality and colour corrected ortho imagery for various States across America into the simulator. Sadly, the team has today announced that the project has now come to and end.
Citing that server costs were higher than expected and the level of donations was less than desired to support it, Verticalsim has made the decision to cease any future development on VStates. That said, past projects will still be made available on Google Drive.
“I’d like to heavily extend a thank you to all who support the project and donated,” said the statement from Verticalsim on Facebook. Whilst this is the end of the chapter for VStates, Verticalsim continues to develop scenery products with plenty still to come for Microsoft Flight Simulator in the near future.
