On Facebook, developers Vertical Simulations has provided a range of renders for their upcoming Iowa Airport (KCID) for X-Plane 11. The airport is due to come with fully modelled and accurate buildings, high definition texturing throughout, the surrounding area modelled in detail and more. It will also use Autogate and be compatible with X-Life. Below are the latest renders from the project.
The project has been in development since November 2018 and was first previewed via the X-Plane.org forums. Down below are the initial previews shared when the project was first announced.
Full planned feature list:
- Fully high-definition building/object textures (and yes, that doesn’t mean burning your GPU to the ground)
- Fully modeled accurate buildings, scaled and placed with the current airport design plans
- PBR materials on nearly almost all buildings and materials
- High-resolution orthophotos
- Proper night lighting and textures
- Fully modeled surrounding area
- WT3 Taxi Routes/X-Life compatible
- Ground traffic
- Autogate
