Saudia Arabia’s King Fahd International Airport (ICAO: OEDF) has released by Vertex Design Studio in both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The huge airport, with two 4000m-long runways, is located on the eastern side of Saudia Arabia, close to Bahrain. The desert airport welcomes an array of different flights, from international scheduled flights to general aviation and business jets.
The team say that accurate 3D modelling, high-resolution textures, and dynamic lighting will provide an ‘immersive experience’ to simmers choosing to fly in and out of Dammam. Despite being available in both versions of MSFS, a note to potential customers warns that the scenery is guaranteed to work entirely in MSFS 2020 but that there are a few ‘quirks’ in 2024 which the team hope to resolve via fixes that will come at a later date.
The note reads: “As of release, the scenery is guaranteed to function properly only on FS 2020, while some FS 2024 SDK quirks are still being resolved. These issues will be fixed shortly, and a more optimized FS 2024 version will be released soon.”
The scenery includes an accurate airport layout of the massive airport, high-quality terminal and buildings, with custom 3D models of the terminal, control tower, cargo facilities and surrounding structures with realistic PBR textures.
